Glimåkra Emilia weaving loom - assembly instructions in German & English

Congratulations on purchasing your Glimåkra Emilia weaving loom , one of the most beautiful weaving looms on the market. We at Berliner Webstuhl Manufaktur would like to thank you for your trust and are happy to help you with any questions you may have. We have designed these instructions because the original Glimåkra instructions are only available in Swedish. We hope that these instructions will be helpful to you 😊.

Part 1: What comes with Emilia?

The delivery includes a) the loom, b) a weaving comb with a fineness of 40/10, c) a weaving rung, d) a draw hook, e) winding rod & clamps, f) a flat shuttle and g) assembly instructions in English. The Berliner Webstuhl Manufaktur also provides h) assembly instructions in German and i) initial weaving instructions for the Emilia for making a tablecloth.

As accessories you can purchase weaving combs in different finenesses (e.g. 50/10), a second weaving comb holder, a carrying bag, a shuttle with base and the stand.

Part 2: Construction of the Emilia basic model

We start by building the basic model, which is 50 cm wide. The structure of the 30 cm wide model is identical. All you need to build it is a screwdriver. We have included lots of pictures in the instructions to make each step as clear as possible. Nevertheless, the construction is quite simple, so theoretically you could manage it without instructions.

Step 1: Start by taking all the pieces out of the box and sorting them. Ideally, you should put the pieces in their designated place, as shown in our picture.

Step 2: Now you can put the two locking wheels together, lead them through the outer wall of the loom and secure them with the locking pin. After that, the locking wheel can no longer be easily pulled out of the wooden frame. Please make sure that the locking wheels are pointing in the right direction. To do this, refer to the pictures of the finished loom.

Step 3: Now please connect the ware tree to the frame timbers on both sides.

Step 4: Screw the safety bar to the frame timbers by attaching two screws on the left and two on the right.

Step 5: The lower frame is now almost complete. Your loom should now look like the first photo below. Now all you need to do is attach the ratchet wheel clamp to the ratchet wheel. Leave it slightly loose so that the wheel can still turn and the lock engages. You've done everything right if the ratchet wheel turns easily and there's a satisfying clicking sound as the clamp jumps from ratchet to ratchet.

Step 6: The upper frame is constructed in a mirror image to the lower one.

Step 7: Now both frames are finished and you can already see the finished loom. Well done!

Step 8: Now the lower and upper frames must be connected using the weaving comb holder. To do this, it must be screwed onto the transition on both the right and left.

Step 9: Insert the weaving comb holder and use the black screw to adjust it. Pull the yellow plug to move or fold the upper frame.

Step 10: Now insert the weaving comb and you're done. Great!

Part 3: Construction of second loom holder

Step 1: Unpack all supplied parts and spread them out in the correct order.

Step 2: Identify the correct hole on the side of the loom, insert the screw correctly and secure the holder.

Step 3: Finally, hang the second weaving comb and voilà, you're done.

Part 4: Construction of stand or base frame

Step 1: First, please unpack the supplied material and lay it out in the arrangement of the structure.

Step 2: Now connect the foot support bar to the stand legs.

Step 3: In the next step, screw the legs together crosswise.

Step 4: The final step - connecting the base to the loom - is unfortunately difficult to do alone. It is ideal if you get help so that one person holds the loom while the other screws everything together. The result should then look like the one below.

PS: If you previously owned an Emilia loom without a stand, you will need to replace the connecting screw on the loom comb holder. The stand comes with two longer screws that must now be used.

Step 5: You're done 😊 !
