Our Weaving Courses

We offer regular weaving courses in Berlin, Brandenburg, and Leverkusen – perfect for anyone who wants to learn or improve their weaving skills in a friendly atmosphere! Our courses are conducted in collaboration with experienced hand weavers and offer the right level for both beginners and advanced students.

What to Expect

Chunky Wool Weaving Workshop (in English)

Next Date: Sunday, April 27, 2025 in Berlin

Discover the art of modern, abstract tapestry weaving in this English-speaking, beginner-friendly workshop in Berlin. You'll learn the fundamentals: from setting up the loom and choosing the right yarns to create bold, textured patterns using soft, chunky merino wool.

Workshop Schedule
The workshop runs from 1:00 PM to approximately 6:00 PM, with light refreshments provided to keep you energized while you weave. No prior experience is required.

Instructor
This workshop is organized and led in collaboration with Gabriela Vlachova ( @Carambol Textures ). She will receive your contact details to discuss any preparatory questions with you in advance.

Weaving with the rigid heddle loom (beginner course)

Next date : Friday to Sunday, 11–13 April 2025 in Berlin (FULLY BOOKED)

Want to learn how to weave and start making your own scarf? Our course in Berlin will teach you step-by-step how! If you don't have your own portable loom (with a weaving width of 30–60 cm), we can borrow one for the course or recommend one for purchase.

Course schedule: On the first day, we warp the yarn. On the second day, we begin the actual weaving.

Course leader: We are planning and conducting this course in cooperation with Hanna Perla Niedermann ( @verwebte_ideen ). She will receive your contact information so that she can clarify any preparatory questions with you.

Inkle Loom Course

Would you like to learn ribbon weaving and make your own ribbons or belts? In our course in Leverkusen, we'll show you step-by-step how! If you don't have a ribbon loom yet, we'll be happy to provide you with a model for the course or advise you on purchasing one.

Advanced course

In this three-day intensive course, you will learn everything you need to set up a loom yourself. Together we will plan your first woven piece, warp the warp, do the heddle drawing and the leaf stitch, and learn simple lacing. On Saturday, you will weave your first piece and go home proudly with your work.
