Louet Megado loom – the versatile dobby loom for the highest demands
The Megado is the flagship loom of the Dutch manufacturer Louët. With 16 or 32 shafts and five different weaving widths, it offers almost unlimited possibilities for complex patterns and designs. Since its launch in 1999, the Megado has enjoyed great popularity among weavers who want to realize demanding projects.
Technical Highlights
Number of shafts and weaving widths : The Megado is available with 16 or 32 shafts and in five weaving widths: 40 cm, 70 cm, 90 cm, 110 cm and 130 cm.
Patented mechanism: An innovative system lifts the rear warp beam, creating a large compartment with even tension on the top and bottom.
Floating breast beam: The breast beam automatically adjusts to the warp tension to ensure consistent results.
Friction brake: The loom allows the warp to be advanced without having to get up from the weaving bench.
Dobby system – the automatic shaft selection: The Dobby system takes over the selection of the shafts during weaving, eliminating the need to manually treadle complex combinations. You no longer have to tie the treadles and can concentrate fully on weaving. The Megado offers two variants:
Mechanical Dobby: Selection is made via program bars with pins attached to the loom like a chain. Each pin combination defines which shafts are raised. Multiple program bars are required for extensive patterns.
Computer Dobby 2.0: This modern system controls the shaft selection via an integrated mini-computer. It is operated via WLAN and a web interface on your tablet or PC. Patterns in WIF format can be imported via a USB stick and adjusted during weaving.

The Megado is made of solid, varnished ash wood. The high-quality workmanship guarantees stability, durability and an attractive design.
